Relationships are designed to provide a deep source of fullness, joy and passion in our lives. However, during many seasons of life, because of varied reasons, most people experience confusion, pain or brokenness in their relationships. You are not alone in this. With open, warm and collaborative style Ken brings his life experience, educational knowledge, spiritual foundations and relational insights to your counseling experience. Make the personal investment to use your present, difficult experience as an opportunity for growth for a lifetime of healthy relationships.
Focus: Ken’s main areas of focus include Couples, Men and Family.
Couples: I walk with conflicted couples who are going through difficult times trying to navigate life, couples who desire more intimacy and closeness, and Premarital Couples who want a great start with their marriage (Prepare).
Men: I work with men to become better men and better husbands. This is counseling designed for men and includes helping men rediscover those deep, strong parts of your design that seem to have been lost. Many men experience depression, frustration, anger and futility; often taking foolish paths toward internet porn, bottling up and withdrawal. During these times many women experience a sense of being overwhelmed, insecurity and aloneness. We can do this individually or as couple (recommended). Men, let’s get moving forward in your manhood where you know you want to be. I also guide men through their sexual difficulties and I oversee sexual addiction groups. Also, teens and college age young men.
Family: I help parents walk through difficulties with setting boundaries, communicating and understanding personal anxieties about parenting. I enjoy working with young men (teens and college) and have helped a number of blended families navigate obstacles specific to them.
Education: Ken has earned an MA in Counseling from Colorado Christian University (1995), a post-graduate training certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute (1998) and a BA in Pastoral Studies from CCU (1987). He is a certified with “Prepare”, a pre-marriage process. Ken has been licensed in Pastoral Ministry since 1992.
Experience: Along with counseling and many other random experiences, Ken has been an associate pastor in the Denver area for 11 years and a therapeutic foster father for 8 years.
Personal: Ken has been married for 26 years and has three young adult children. He enjoys spending time with his family, learning, remodeling and anything that has to do with the outdoors.
